As expected, the entertainment portion Memphis Madness got off to a good start thanks to Atlanta rapper Lil Baby showing up Thursday at FedExForum
Lil Baby came out with Memphis rapper Moneybagg Yo and the crowd immediately rose and reached for their cell phones to capture the moment. But another surprise came during their third song as Atlanta rapper Future surprised the crowd by coming out.
He then got the crowd fired up even more by doing his hit "March Madness". The crowd rapped along in unison as the Grammy Award winner performed at center court with both basketball teams stood behind him recording the show with their phones.
Hints of Future’s arrival came on social media when he was spotted at Shelby County Penal Farm in the late afternoon.
Another hint came when men's basketball coach Penny Hardaway made a grand, smoke-filled entrance into FedExForum to one of Future's songs "All The Smoke".
Lil Baby also teased his appearance on Monday in a since-deleted Instagram post. The rapper is a favorite among several members of the Memphis basketball team and the football team has played several of his songs at practice the past year.
