CHITTENANGO N.Y. -- Yellow Brick Road Casino’s newest addition — a $10 million entertainment wing in Chittenango — opens today at noon.

The 19,400-square-foot entertainment venue includes “The Lanes” — six lanes of bowling — along with an indoor Top Golf swing suite, pool tables, shuffleboard, sports betting, a bar and new dining choices, Oneida Indian Nation officials said.

There also are more than 65 additional slot machines and 20 LED TV screens. Other games visitors can play include dodge ball, baseball pitching and soccer.

The project includes a new exterior facade, a new gaming floor with a contemporary industrial design and The Lounge with Caesars Sports, a sports book area.

The new venue plus recent renovations to the original casino have added 125 jobs — 20 in the new entertainment wing, officials said.

The casino in the Chittenango Plaza at 800 W. Genesee St. opened in 2015.

The expansion was announced in December, and work began shortly after. The venue is located primarily in the area once occupied by the nation’s liquor store, the Tin Woodsman’s Flask. It closed in 2019 to make way for the expansion.

A grand opening night special event will start at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday. It will include samples of new dining options and a chance to try the games. Tickets for the event, which is open to the public, are $20 at the door.

Proceeds from the grand opening event will go to the Good Life CNY and Generation Next — two CenterState CEO initiatives that work to promote quality of life and economic opportunities in CNY.

Generation Next is an initiative designed to attract diverse talent to available jobs in Central New York, foster opportunities for career advancement, and connect talented diverse professionals through social engagement and networking.

The Good Life CNY is a marketing, branding, and talent connection campaign dedicated to promoting the quality of life and economic opportunity available in this region to the Northeast. GoodLifeCNY.com has information about living in CNY, along with a listing of more than 3,000 openings by more than 200 companies.

The new entertainment venue will be open from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m. Monday through Thursday, noon to midnight Friday and Saturday, and noon to 10 p.m. Sundays.

The Oneida Nation also owns Turning Stone Casino and Resort in Verona and Point Place Casino in Bridgeport. The Oneidas also own and operate SavOn gas stations and several other businesses.
